  The Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Document for the (Provisionally Named) Sodegaura Thermal Power Station New Units 1–3 Construction Plan is currently available for public opinion.
  This project involves the phased decommissioning of the existing Units 1–4 and the construction of new Units 1–3.
  Public Review Period: Friday, July 17, 2026, through Monday, August 17, 2026

• Public comment
  The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy is processing public comments on the guideline for the FY2026 Long-Term Decarbonization Power Source Auction (LTDA). The deadline is August 16, 2026. We are concerned about the increasing reliance on gas-fired power generation.
  At the same time, the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO) has issued a call for comments on the “Guidelines for the Capacity Market Long-Term Decarbonization Power Source Auction (Bidding Year: FY 2026)” and the “Terms and Conditions for Capacity Securing Contracts in the Long-Term Decarbonization Power Source Auction” (Comment Period: July 21, 2026 – August 3, 2026) *Public comment documents are available only in Japanese.
