●Makiminato Thermal power plant, Okinawa Electric Power
Okinawa Electric Power announced plans to construct new LNG thermal power plant in the Makiminato Thermal Power Plant complex. Construction is scheduled to begin within 2029 and operations expected to start in FY2032. The company stated it is considering to convert to decarbonized fuels, such as ammonia, to reduce CO2 emission in the future. However, any environmental impact assessment documents have not been submitted.
