The 2019 version of the “Coal Scorecard” (implemented since 2015, 5th edition) evaluates G7 coal policies by the UK think tank E3G that evaluates G7 coal policies. It compares and evaluates the market trends of each country, the state of government policies, and the efforts to remove coal. Japan continues to be ranked at the bottom. In 2018, although private companies were sluggish, they showed some positive progress.
