[Proposed Coal Plants]
Tokuyama East Power Generation No.3
Tokuyama Corporation and Marubeni is announced to build a biomass co-firing power project located at Tokuyama Factory of Tokuyama Corporation (“Tokuyama”) in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. This new power plant will have a total capacity of 300MW.
The project owners are, Marubeni, Tokuyama and Tokyo Century Corporation. Construction of the power plant will start in October 2017 and commercial operation is scheduled to start in 2022.

The EIA screening for this project was completed in 2009 and has been left untouched till very recenty. It was originally for internal power generation but now it is switched for electric power selling.
