Matsuura No.2

December 20th, Kyushu Electric Power starts commercial operation of Matsuura No.2 in Matsuura city, Nagasaki. As a size of 1,000MW coal-fired power plant, Matuura No.2 is estimated to emit 4.7 million tons of CO2 per year.

December 4th, Chubu Electric Power announced it would convert Suzukawa Energy Center, Ltd.’s coal-fired power plant into a biomass power plant.  Suzukawa Energy Center started its operation in September 2016.
