Electric Power Development (J-POWER) is planning to process the draft environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the GENESIS Matsushima Project and solicit public comments this fall. This will be the last opportunity for citizens to voice their opinions regarding the EIA for this project. When the public comment period begins, ACT Matsushima will support submissions of written opinions.
Kiko Network and “The Zero Emission Realization Association” has renewed “ACT Matsushima”, which compiles issues and related information concerning the GENESIS Matsushima Project. ACT Matsushima provides Q&A, short movies, materials highlighting issues, and links to opinions submitted by environmental NGOs, the Governor of Nagasaki Prefecture, the Minister of the Environment, and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) during the previous public comment period, and details on actions taken by citizens.
Please refer the new pamphlet of the GENESIS Matsushima which has been revised in August 2025.
