Environmental Impact Assessment: Nanko Power Station (LNG)
On July 17, Kansai Electric Power (KEPCO) announced that it had submitted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Nanko Power Station (LNG), scheduled to begin operations in FY2030, to the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Governor of Osaka Prefecture. The Nanko Power Station Units 1 through 3 were decommissioned in March 2025, and are currently being upgraded to high-efficiency combined cycle units.
